What to Wear: The Cutest Mother’s Day Dress

Mother’s Day is T-minus two weeks away! Do you know what Mother’s Day Dress you’re going to wear?

I just so happened to be in H&M the other day, looking for a NASA shirt because…Ariana Grande made me do it? It’s like I’m the universe and you’ll be N-A-S-A. Ok. Enough of that!

Your Search for a Mother’s Day Dress Ends Here!

Any who, I was inside H&M looking for this particular shirt and noticed some very cute dresses close to the fitting room area. Besides the fact that I need new jeans (that topic deserves it’s own post), I was attracted to the gorgeous light blue color of this dress.

I was not only drawn to it because of the color. I really like how light and breathable the fabric is. The fact that it has a cinched waist is a complete SCORE for me. I’m still trying to shed a few pounds, but I didn’t exactly have a curvy figure to begin with. So the style helps create the illusion of a smaller waist and seriously, who wouldn’t love that?!?

It Feels So Light and Free

Right away I knew this was going to be My Mother’s Day Dress! Everything about it, from the color, to the texture, and the style just made me love it. Do you want to know the best part about this deal? You get 15% off your purchase while shopping at H&M if you bring in at least 3 garments. This helps support their recycling efforts.

I decided to pair the dress with these cute wedge sandals I got for Target. They are the same ones mentioned in a previous post but didn’t wear since I felt like they didn’t go well with my cute striped jumpsuit.

I don’t know if you guys can tell but there is definitely a theme here. Lately, I have been loving vertical stripes! If you check my instagram feed, you will definitely be able to tell that stripes and floral prints are definitely my fashion go to’s.

Got Plans this Mother’s Day?

This year, we don’t have huge plans for Mother’s Day. We will attend Church and maybe have a nice brunch with the family. My daughter really enjoys going to the nail salon, so that may also be on our agenda. It’s just so funny to me. I look back and think about all of those special moments I had with my mom. We’d go to the hair salon, have girl talks on the weekend, and of course I loved the shopping we’d do.

Ironically, the thing I missed most about her was how strict and no nonsense she was with me. She had faith in my and was definitely my cheerleader. But she did not come to play with me when it came to teaching me important life lessons.

So, besides me sharing all the cute clothes in the world, I just want to share an important message all of you. Cherish your mother! She may not be perfect, but God gave her to you. Honor her every day, not just on Mother’s Day.

Now that I am a mother myself, I know first hand (or I at least have an idea) of what my mom had to sacrifice for me to have a really good life. The selflessness, patience, and love that she gave to me what honestly the best gift a girl could ever ask for. So as the roles have reversed, I’m trying my best to be as good of a mother as her.

Did Someone Cut an Onion? My Eyes are Starting to Water!

Sorry guys. I didn’t mean to get all sappy on you all. But, the moral of the story here is to appreciate your Mother’s NOW while they are still alive and to go buy this cute blue dress from H&M.

This Mother’s Day, I think I am going to try to spend some quality time with my daughter and my aunt, who is basically my mother.
