Chile, can I keep it real with you all? Like, really really really real? I have been so super self conscious about wearing swimsuits since I was a teenager. I felt like I always had the shape of a 9 year old boy, with the exception of the pretty muscular thighs.
When it came to showing my body in a swimsuit, even a one piece, I just felt weird. I felt like everyone had their eyes on me, judging my body and all of its imperfections. And you know what, that didn’t change at all as time went on.
Shortly after graduating, I had my oldest son at 19 and you guessed it. I got stretch marks all over my belly. Gone were the days of having abs. It’s SO UNFORTUNATE! God had blessed me with a really nice set of abs. Really, can we please have a moment of silence for those abs? RIP. But, he also blessed me with a beautiful bundle of joy by the name of Landen!
That being said, I didn’t wear a swimsuit or officially go swimming util about two years ago. I got my hands on the cutest one piece that only showed a little bit of skin and had a whole lot of style.
So, it todays episode of shenanigans, I will be sharing all the swimsuits and styles that I LOVE to wear to help me feel more confident while I’m sitting pool side.
One Piece or a Two Piece? That is the Question!
I tend to opt for cute one piece swimsuits any day. I like them because they cover all of my midsection and you can still get the ones that have really cute dips in the back.
If I don’t pick up a simple one piece, I will get a little fancy and opt for one that has the sides cut out on one that dips a little bit lower in the front.
In addition to wearing a super cute one piece, I like to wear the two piece sets that have a high waist. Just enough coverage to not show all of my tiger stripes, but still low enough to show a little bit or melanin.
Well ladies and gentleman. There you have it. Peer pressure at it’s finest. I want to buy all of the mommy friendly swimsuits on the market. So I felt it was only right for me to share some of them with you in order to entice you enough to shop along with me.
